Rigorous instruction through artistic exploration

We know that our students learn best with rigorous instruction through artistic exploration. We believe that the arts provide an avenue for investigation, representation, expression, and reflection of both curricular content and the art form itself. Each quarter, students engage in a unit of study that is aligned to both the Colorado State Standards, both in academics and the arts. Together with their classroom teachers, students are engaged with our resident teaching artists who support the implementation of the units of study through an authentic artistic lens.

5th-8th Grades

Learning Focus: Exploration

Much like a traditional middle school, students receive a rigorous, standards aligned instruction in each content area. However, quarterly units of study that connect each content area provide the foundation of a truly arts-integrated curriculum.

9th-12th Grades

Learning Focus: Immersion

Students entering the 9th-grade pathway will receive an arts-integrated, standards-aligned core curriculum in each content area. Students will be building a portfolio through original creations for their midterms and finals through a project. This will lead students to their capstone projects and be ready for industry based internships from their experiences.
