The Charles Burrell Visual & Performing Arts Campus is a K-12 magnet school pathway serving all Aurora Public School students.

The campus, with two locations, consists of a K-8 school and a 9-12 visual and performing arts pathway at Aurora Central High School. During the 2022-2023 school year, the campus will serve Preschool through 3rd grade; 6th grade; and 9th grade. At every grade level students are immersed in comprehensive arts programs and rigorous academics so that they are ready to pursue creative careers or college degrees.

Anne Ferris

Ms. Ferris has 20 years of experience working in various roles in Aurora Public Schools. She previously worked as a social studies teacher, dean of students and an assistant principal at several elementary, middle and high schools.

She has a master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Denver and a bachelor's degree in anthropology and teaching from Lawrence University. She is passionate about serving the Burrell community and looks forward to leading our school.

Kurtis Quig

Kurtis Quig

Mr. Quig is in his 24th year in education, all of which have been spent in middle and high schools. For most of his career, he has served the North Aurora Community. He graduated from the University of Mary in North Dakota in 1997 and began his career as a middle school social studies teacher. He received his master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Colorado at Denver. After graduating, he became assistant principal at North Middle School in Aurora Public Schools. In 2022 he was appointed principal at Aurora Central High School. Mr. Quig is looking forward to the opportunity of leading the 9-12 Visual and Performing Arts Magnet school.

Mr. Quig enjoys spending time with his wife, Kara, his son, Kolton, and his daughter, Kennedy.They enjoy spending time with one another and traveling around the country looking for a relaxing beach.
